Our 4-level curriculum is real preparation for what it takes to thrive in medical school and beyond. With support and mentoring from practicing Black MDs, our physiology, pathology and pharmacology curriculum also includes vocabulary, verbal reasoning, social emotional, higher-order differential diagnosis skills and even college advising. We prepare Black and brown students for what they will face in their pursuit of an MD.

Reimagining health equity for all by developing the homegrown physicians our communities need most.

Did you know, among HS students that aspire to be MDs, the greatest predictor of which student will eventually apply to medical school is -

If their parents have an advanced degree?

Every MedReimagined course prepares students for the concepts and styles taught in medical school.

Our courses build on students’ innate knowledge of their bodies rather than biology, chemistry or physics. Students learn how human body systems work (physiology), what can go wrong (pathology) and how to fix it (pharmacology).

Every MedReimagined course is enriched by a practicing medical professional of color.

All TA’s are graduates or mentees of the program and most are continuing their studies to become physicians themselves. Our everyday interactions give scholars living examples of what is possible for them.

The MedReimagined commitment to our scholars extends beyond our coursework and even k-12.

Our mission is to create pathways for scholars from every community to become MDs. We center the experiences of students who seldom see themselves in science curriculum and support them until they get their white coats.

MedReimagined connects scholars and parents to a national community of other aspiring physicians.

Our national community of aspiring medical professionals hosts summer opportunities, short courses, college visits, college preparation coordination and discussions with medical professionals and special invited guests.

See MedReimagined Success Stories

LeShia Davis-Johnson is a first-year medical student at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky.

LeShaia Davis-Johnson from Baltimore, Maryland attended Western High School, the oldest all-girls public high school in the nation, where Dr. Myers began the biomedical science program that would become MedReimagined. At Western Dr. Myers was LeShaia’s science teacher and basketball coach for 3 years. After high school she attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro majoring in kinesiology and sport medicine. In 2020, she completed a post baccalaureate program at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and also spent a summer as a MedReimagined instructor. In 2021, I entered the University of Louisville school of medicine. Her aspiration is to be a family medical physician with a specialty in obstetrics and substance abuse. “I wouldn’t be here without Dr. Myers and the MedReimagined program. I'm proud to be a graduate, to have served as an instructor and be fulfilling my dream to become a doctor. I know, with the preparation and support I’ve had, nothing can stop me”.
